See the world through my eyes…

Artist Statement

As an artist, I find act of creating to be a deeply rewarding experience that allows me to explore and express my unique perspective on the world . For me, the act of making art is just as important as the end result. Through my work with monotype prints, I aim to demonstrate the uniqueness of each individual. Each print I create is a one-of-a-kind piece, imbued with its own personality and character. By embracing the unpredictability of the monotype process, I am able to create works that are both spontaneous and deeply personal.
In my collages, I work with layers upon layers, embracing the imperfections and nuances of each one. It is through these imperfections that we can truly appreciate the beauty of our individuality. Each layer represents a different aspect of ourselves, and when combined, they create a complex and intricate whole.
My work with charcoal allows me to capture the nonverbal signals that we use to communicate our emotions and intentions. Through body figures, I explore the range of postures, facial expressions, and hand gestures that we use to convey our innermost feelings.

In essence, my work is about celebrating the unique beauty of each individual, embracing the imperfections that make us who we are. Through my art, I hope to inspire others to embrace their own individuality and to connect more deeply with those around them.

CREATE

The monotypes I’ve created have taught me to accept imperfections and things for what they are. I’ve learned to appreciate paper in different ways starting from its color, texture and to even down to its thickness. Creating paper myself has also taken a big part of this. As well as incorporating nature and using leaves and flower petals to get a natural pigmentation. Using everyday objects and seeing it translate into a whole different piece is pretty astonishing to me… I will use just about anything to create different forms of textures. From aluminum foil, bubble wrap, cloth towels, newspaper, plants, wax paper, thread, fire and so on.
